At Desherb, we’re on a mission to bring the authentic flavors and wellness of India’s rural kitchens into every home. Our journey began with a simple but powerful idea: to rediscover and celebrate the time-honored culinary traditions of rural India, where food is more than just sustenance – it’s a celebration of health, family, and culture.
Inspired by ancient recipes, we’ve crafted products that are pure, wholesome, and free from artificial additives. From our nutrient-packed Moringa Powder to the crunchy Moringa Crisps, our offerings reflect the richness of rural Indian life, where food is prepared with care, love, and respect for nature.

Sourcing

 We source Moringa leaves from small, eco-friendly farms in rural India, where Moringa grows naturally under the Indian sun, free from pesticides and synthetic fertilizers.

Harvesting

The leaves are handpicked by local farmers, ensuring that only the best, most mature leaves are selected.

Processing

To retain the maximum amount of nutrients, the Moringa leaves are sun-dried. This traditional method preserves the potency of the Moringa, keeping it fresh and full of natural goodness.

We take extra care to package our products in eco-friendly materials that preserve freshness while ensuring sustainability

Our products are then sent directly to you, ensuring you receive the purest Moringa possible, with no preservatives or additives.

Shamika Sunthankar

Shamika grew up immersed in the scents and stories of India’s herbal traditions, enchanted by the remedies and recipes passed down through her family. From nibbling homemade turmeric and ginger treats in her mother’s kitchen, her childhood was steeped in wellness wisdom. That early passion never left her – even as she built a successful corporate career. For over two decades she thrived in the corrugated packaging sector (rising from Plant Head at Prakash Corrugated in Pune to Director at Samarth Impex).

Along the way she honed expertise in manufacturing, logistics, and sustainable production. But Shamika’s heart always belonged to something more. In late 2024 she followed her true calling by launching Desherb.

Shortcuts in Food Culture

No mass production or overprocessing — we follow traditional methods like sun-drying and stone-grinding.

Preservatives & Chemicals

No artificial shelf-life boosters. We believe food should be alive, not lab-altered.

Refined Sugar & Additives

No glucose syrups or fake sweetness. We use natural sweeteners like jaggery and dates only.

Artificial Flavours or Colours

We let real ingredients speak. No synthetic taste or fake aromas.

Refined Flour (Maida)

Only ancient grains like jowar, bajra, rajgira — no polished grains or bleached flours.

Cold Storage-Dependent Ingredients

We don’t use ingredients that require heavy refrigeration or chemical preservatives to survive.

Desherb’s journey is about rediscovering those hidden goodies – venturing into India’s heartlands, celebrating wisdom, and sharing their authentic, healthful flavors with the world. Today, Shamika infuses that wisdom into every Desherb product. Whether it’s a crunchy baked moringa crisp or a wholesome millet-and-herb snack bar, each treat is crafted with care – 100% natural and made without any preservatives or artificial additives.

Her background in packaging means every morsel is sustainably made and beautifully presented for modern tables. But Desherb is about more than snacks: Her journey from corporate life to entrepreneurial founder is fueled by purpose and hope – a reminder that traditional wellness and sustainable living can change lives, one bite at a time.
